Cotonou, 18 September 2025 – The Embassy of Nigeria in Cotonou today warmly welcomed His Royal Highness, Asari Dokubo, and his entourage on an official visit to the Mission.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness and his delegation were received by the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Ambassador Bukar Kalambe, alongside senior members of the Embassy staff. The visit underscored the Embassy’s ongoing commitment to engaging with distinguished Nigerian leaders and stakeholders who continue to play significant roles in fostering national unity, peace, and socio-economic development.
During the courtesy visit, discussions focused on strengthening people-to-people ties, promoting cultural exchange, and advancing shared interests between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin. His Royal Highness expressed deep gratitude to the Embassy for its consistent support throughout their stay in Benin and recalled that his previous visit to the Mission was in 2017. He also spoke about plans to establish a Film University—one campus in Nigeria and another in Benin—aimed at empowering young creative talent and fostering cultural collaboration across the sub-region.
In his closing remarks, the Chargé d’Affaires, Amb. Bukar Kalambe, reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting Nigerians in Benin Republic. He emphasized the Mission’s resolve to protect the interests of the Nigerian community—and to continue promoting positive bilateral relations.
